Websites and Tech Support by Kate
One of the many upsides of being an accomplished musician is that it means I'm a creative person with an analytical brain and Rain Man levels of recall. One of the downsides is that it can be hard to make a living as a musician alone. However, this is good news for you if you need my non-musical services!
I spent the first 12 years of my post-undergrad career working in-house for nonprofits, professional associations, and higher education, using my English B.A. and (mostly) self-taught coding skills to solidify my reputation as an online communications expert. After completing my M.S. in Information Systems Technology at The George Washington University, I began working for small consulting firms, doing everything from business development and account management to UX design and web development to documentation and testing… the list goes on and on.
Even while working 40+ hours per week and playing music multiple times per week on top of that, I always end up taking on freelance projects for friends and strangers alike who needed help with setting up or editing their website, configuring their email, or figuring out a digital strategy. It's a big and scary world for those who aren't deep in it day-to-day, and I have a passion for making things accessible and approachable using today's best and most customer-friendly technologies, so I like to carve out time to offer help to those who need it.
Check out a sampling of some of my projects below.
