UX Design - Centralizing Property & Market Analysis

From Fall 2019 to Spring 2021, I was the embedded UX lead on an agile team working to support the digital transformation strategy of a large financial services organization as it consolidates and modernizes its systems and processes and adopts a standardized design system.

This particular team is responsible for designing and developing products to support the new underwriting process, which will consolidate disparate systems, applications, spreadsheets, and more into one centralized hub. When I joined, the team had just transitioned from an innovation incubator to a formalized agile team, and was working with legacy designs that dealt with one particular part of the loan processing ecosystem, involving property and market analysis.

When I inherited these designs, they needed to be standardized to conform to the new Design System, which was still under construction. Additionally, the organization had not yet made InVision available to use, so any interactivity needed to be shown through Axure prototypes, even though the Design System had been optimized for use in Sketch.

As development of these screens progressed, we conducted unmoderated usability testing using SurveyMonkey to gather feedback from our stakeholders and prioritize any changes that we needed to make to the interface and/or functionality.
